 The Polish peoples lives by the drainage area of River Danube and River Vistula from ancient time. From the 6th century to the 9th century A.D., the rudiment of a feudalism country gradually came into being. From year 960 to year 992, A.D., Mieszko the 1st, the first king of Poland, united the country. Year 966 AD, pursuant to the Latin Ceremony, Poland accepted Christianism. And it came into a religion of the nation in the
coming 1000 years.In the middle of 12th century, Poland came into a period of divisions and wars. Forepart of feudalism monarchism collapsed. Poland was reunited for the first time in the 14th century.
Year 1569, the first Republic of Poland was founded by Poland and Lithuania. From the 16th century to the 18th century, Poland leads the republic of nobilities. In such a situation, the capital of the country has been moved from Cracow to Warsaw.
The 16th century is a golden era for Poland. The culture and Technology of the country was well developed at that time. The area of the country was the largest in her history, raised 810,000km2. May 3rd, 1791, the Polish sejm(parliament) passed the first Polish constitution, the Constitution of May 3rd. It was the first constitution in Europe and the second of the world.
The last part of 17th century, the development of Polish was falling down. In the 18th century, it was partitioned by Russia, Austria and Prussia. From 1795 to 1918, the country of Poland disappeared from the earth. For 123 years. With the end of the World War I, Poland resumed its independence. In 1918, the second Republic of Poland was founded. Later in the World War II, Nazi conquered Poland. After the war, a Peoples' Republic of Poland was founded. Dec. 29th, Polish government modified the name of the nation. Nowadays it names the Republic of Poland again.
